Skin Tags, Warts and Molluscum
Say goodbye to your warts and skin tags
Skin imperfections are all part of aging—but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing you can do about minor issues like skin tags, warts and molluscum. Find out how our dermatologists can smooth out your skin, improving your overall look.
What are warts, molluscum and skin tags?
Warts are benign growths caused by one of 100 types of HPV that most commonly develop on the feet, hands and under the nails. They have rough surfaces and could be darker in color. Molluscum Contagiosum is a benign growth caused by a Pox virus that is spread from person to person. They appear to be skin-colored pink bumps on the skin. Skin tags are extra flaps of skin often found in the armpits and on the neck. Weight gain and aging can both cause skin tags to develop.
Should I get my warts, molluscum or skin tags removed?
Warts, molluscum and skin tags may not be dangerous, but you might still want to have them removed for aesthetic reasons. Warts and molluscum are also contagious and can be painful depending on where they are located. Although warts and molluscum often go away on their own (especially in children), dermatologists do offer removal options.
Can I treat them on my own?
Although there are a number of at-home treatments for skin tags, warts and molluscum, we recommend you consult a dermatologist to get an expert opinion and make sure you’re choosing a removal method that is 100% safe. We have experience with a wide range of skin conditions and can provide a solution that will work for you.Book appointment now

What treatments are offered for wart, molluscum or skin tag removal?
For a stubborn case of warts, molluscum or skin tags, we provide a number of treatment options that can eliminate the problem, including painting the wart with cantharidin so a doctor is able to clip it off, or using a cutterage to scrape off the wart or skin tag. The most common procedures for wart and skin tag removal are electrosurgery to burn them off and cryotherapy to freeze them off.
Cryotherapy for wart molluscum and skin tags
Cryotherapy is the most common treatment for recurring warts in adults and older children. Cryotherapy uses extreme cold in the form of liquid nitrogen to destroy abnormal tissue.Learn more about Cryotherapy
